One Click, On The Page You Are Already Looking At
Click the toolbar icon and the scan starts. LinkLens collects every link on the page, navigation, body copy and footer, and requests each one to find out what it actually returns. The page is not reloaded and nothing on it is changed.
The colour fills the link itself, so you can see which anchor text and which part of the page a broken link belongs to. No cross-referencing a list of URLs against the page you are trying to fix.
Redirects are called redirects. A link that redirects still works, but it costs a hop and usually points at a URL you meant to update, so those get their own state rather than being counted as fine. A check the destination refused is reported as unable to verify, not as a 404.

Every link is filled with the colour of its result, so a page's link health reads at a glance instead of one link at a time.
Redirects Kept Separate
301s and 302s get their own state, because a working-but-redirected link needs a different fix from a broken one.
Honest About Blocked Checks
A 403, 401 or 429 is reported as unable to verify rather than as broken. The site refused the check, which is not the same as the link being dead.
Dofollow And Nofollow, Counted
Every link is read for rel=nofollow, sponsored and ugc, so a page's outgoing signal is countable rather than assumed.

Each Destination Is Requested
Requests go out from your browser and the status that comes back decides the colour. They are queued and spaced per site, so a page with hundreds of links does not hammer any one destination.
The Page Fills In As Answers Arrive
Links are coloured where they sit and a panel keeps count in the corner. Turn a colour off, jump to any link, export the lot as CSV, then close the panel and the page is exactly as it was.

No. It checks the links on the one page you are looking at, when you click the icon. There is no crawl and no queue of pages. For a whole site, run the Website SEO Audit instead.

Yes, and this is the main reason to use an extension rather than a crawler. The scan runs in your browser on the page you can already see, so anything you can open, it can check.
What does “unable to verify” mean?
The destination refused the check rather than the link being broken: a bot rule, a login wall, or rate limiting. It gets its own state instead of being reported as a 404, because those need different responses.
What leaves my browser?
The link checks go straight from your browser to each destination, so the URLs you check are never sent to us. Requests carry no cookies and no referrer, and results live in memory for that tab only.
