3 pages take too long to show their main content
3 pages of the 5 measured have a Largest Contentful Paint above 2.5 seconds.
Why it matters
Largest Contentful Paint is the moment the main thing on the page appears. Until then a visitor is looking at something incomplete, and this is the metric Google uses to decide whether a page feels fast.
How to fix it
- Start with the saving named beside each page, then open PageSpeed Insights for it: its "Largest Contentful Paint element" says what the largest element is.
- If it is text, the delay is usually render-blocking CSS or web fonts, or JavaScript that builds the page: inline the critical CSS, self-host or preload fonts with font-display: swap, and send the content in the HTML.
- If it is an image, compress it, serve it at the size it is displayed, and preload it.
- Check the server's response time: a slow first byte delays everything after it.
